Q. I have a set of XB 04 forks I'm rebuilding them and ran across a "pro race spring kit" from HD --(48083-04Y) --It's a spring upgrade. The 05 and later forks show a different spring number than the 04 in the HD parts cat. My Q is will this kit fit the 04 forks?? or are the new springs a different OD/ID ??

A. Thank you for your email. '05 and later forks are 43mm vs 41mm ('04 and earlier). The
parts are not completely interchangable. The '05+ forks have more spring options than
the earlier stuff. To change to '05 and later forks you need a late model triple tree.
